Prism is an Amazon advertising management tool. We connect to the Amazon Advertising API using standard OAuth authorization to read your data and act on your behalf. You control access and can revoke it at any time from your Amazon account.

We're also building a connection to the Amazon Selling Partner API (SP-API), but that's still waiting on Amazon's approval. Everything in the SP-API sections below describes what's coming, not what's live today.

This page explains what data we access and what we do with it.

SP-API coming soon. We're waiting on Amazon's approval before we can turn on the SP-API integration. Everything on this page that references SP-API is planned functionality, not live. Right now, Prism runs entirely through the Amazon Advertising API.

Our core principle: you stay in control

Prism reads your advertising and catalog data to build recommendations. It never makes a change to your Amazon account without your approval. Every optimization goes through a review queue first: bid changes, new keywords, budget adjustments, all of it. You can optionally turn on automation for specific recommendation types, and when you do, Prism works within the rules you set.

Two inventory safety automations (pausing ads for out-of-stock products and reducing bids on low-inventory products) are auto-applied and always disclosed — the single exception to approval-first, because they are deterministic safety logic, not optimization decisions. These depend on SP-API and are not yet active. They will go live once Amazon approves our SP-API integration.

We only request the permissions we actually need. Prism does not use Amazon DSP or Amazon Marketing Cloud, and we don't access order-level or buyer personal information.

Amazon Advertising API

We use the Advertising API to understand and optimize your Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, and Sponsored Display campaigns.

Authorization scope: advertising::campaign_management

Ad products covered: Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display. Prism does not use Amazon DSP or Amazon Marketing Cloud (AMC).

What we read

  • Your advertising profiles and account structure
  • Campaigns, ad groups, product ads, keywords, targets, and negative keywords
  • Search-term reports and performance metrics (spend, sales, clicks, conversions, placement data)
  • Bulk campaign exports for efficient large-account syncing
  • Amazon's own bid, budget, and keyword suggestions
  • Real-time performance and budget signals via Amazon Marketing Stream (Sponsored Products traffic and conversion data, plus campaign, ad group, ad, and target entity-change datasets)

What we do (only with your approval)

  • Create campaigns, ad groups, product ads, keywords, targets, and negative keywords
  • Adjust bids, budgets, placement modifiers, dayparting schedules, and audience bidding
  • Change campaign state (enable or pause)
  • Archive campaigns, targets, and negative targets you no longer need

Amazon Selling Partner API (SP-API)

This entire section describes functionality that is not yet active. SP-API access is pending Amazon's approval. We'll update this page when the integration goes live.

We're building an SP-API integration to tie your ad performance to your actual business results: sales, catalog health, and inventory. The goal is recommendations that reflect real profitability, not just ad-side metrics.

Authorization scope (planned): sellingpartnerapi::reporting:read (plus listing, catalog, content, and promotions permissions where those features are used)

SP-API roles requested (planned):

RoleAPIs unlockedRequired?
Brand AnalyticsReports API: GET_SALES_AND_TRAFFIC_REPORT (TaCoS) + Brand Analytics Repeat Purchase Behavior (lifetime-adjusted ACoS)Yes
Product ListingCatalog Items API; Listings Items API (read + write/patch); A+ Content Management APIYes
Amazon FulfillmentFBA Inventory API (inventory safety automations)Yes

None of these roles require access to order-level buyer personal information.

What we will read (pending SP-API approval)

  • Sales & traffic reports to calculate total advertising cost of sales (TaCoS)
  • Brand Analytics repeat-purchase data to understand customer loyalty
  • Catalog data: product titles, attributes, Best Seller Rank, and parent/child ASIN relationships
  • Listing data: your SKUs, prices, and fulfillment status
  • FBA inventory levels to keep advertising aligned with available stock

We'll use this data to figure out where each product sits in its lifecycle (launch, expand, or harvest) and weight recommendations accordingly. Prism will not write to SP-API catalog, listings, or inventory endpoints on its own. Any SP-API calls that run automatically will be read-only.

What we will do with your approval (pending SP-API approval)

  • Update listings: price adjustments and content/attribute fixes
  • Manage A+ Content: create, update, and submit for review

Data, security, and your control

  • We access your data through Amazon's official, encrypted API connections.
  • We never share or sell your Amazon advertising or catalog data.
  • All automated writes to Amazon APIs are logged and kept for at least 12 months, in line with Amazon's Agent Policy (effective March 4, 2026).
  • You can disconnect Prism at any time from Seller Central or your Amazon Advertising console. Permissions are revoked immediately.
